Hungarian Plum Jam Crescent Rolls

Ingredients:

  • 500 g flour
  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 25 g fresh yeast or 7 g dry yeast
  • 200 ml warm milk
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Pinch of salt

Filling:

  • Thick plum jam (szilvalekvár)

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm milk with sugar.
  2. Mix flour, butter, egg yolks, salt, and yeast mixture into a soft dough.
  3. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour.
  4. Roll out and cut into triangles.
  5. Add plum jam and roll into crescent shapes.
  6. Place on tray and let rest 15–20 minutes.
  7. Bake at 180°C for 20–25 minutes until golden.
