Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps

Cheesy Garlic Chicken Wraps are a masterclass in texture—crispy, toasted flour tortillas give way to a succulent filling of garlic-infused chicken and a heavy helping of melted cheese. They are a perfect bridge between a quesadilla and a burrito, finished with a golden sear that locks in the flavor.

Ingredients

The Filling

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into small bite-sized pieces
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp butter (for sautéing)

The Wraps & Cheese

  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella or a cheddar-jack blend
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • Optional: A side of garlic dipping sauce or ranch

Preparation Method

1

Sauté the Garlic Chicken

10-12 minutes

Season the chicken pieces with salt, pepper, and onion powder. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. In the last 2 minutes of cooking, add the minced garlic and toss well to ensure the chicken is aromatic but the garlic doesn’t burn.

2

Build the Wraps

Layering is key

Lay each tortilla flat. Place a generous layer of shredded cheese in the center, followed by a portion of the hot garlic chicken and a sprinkle of fresh parsley. Adding more cheese on top of the chicken helps the wrap stay closed during searing.

3

Fold and Secure

Tuck the ends

Fold the left and right sides of the tortilla inward, then roll from the bottom up as tightly as possible. Place them seam-side down on a plate while you prep the pan.

4

The Golden Sear

2-3 minutes per side

Wipe out your skillet and add a tiny bit of oil or butter. Place the wraps seam-side down first. Grill over medium heat until the tortilla is golden brown and the cheese inside has fully melted. Rotate to brown all sides.

Pro Tip: For an extra layer of flavor, brush the outside of the tortillas with a mixture of melted butter and garlic salt before searing. This creates a “garlic bread” style crust on the wrap itself.
