
🇭🇺 Hungarian Plum Jam Crescent Rolls
Ingredients
Dough:
- 500 g all-purpose flour
- 250 g butter, softened
- 25 g fresh yeast (or 7 g dry yeast)
- 200 ml warm milk
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 pinch salt
Filling:
- Thick plum jam (lekvár)
For topping:
- Powdered sugar
Instructions
- Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit 10 minutes.
- Mix flour, butter, egg yolks, and salt.
- Add yeast mixture and knead into smooth dough.
- Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
- Roll dough out thin and cut into triangles.
- Place a spoon of plum jam on the wide end.
- Roll into crescent shapes.
- Place on baking tray and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes until lightly golden.
- Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.
