🇭🇺 Hungarian Plum Jam Crescent Rolls

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 250 g butter, softened
  • 25 g fresh yeast (or 7 g dry yeast)
  • 200 ml warm milk
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 pinch salt

Filling:

  • Thick plum jam (lekvár)

For topping:

  • Powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm milk. Let sit 10 minutes.
  2. Mix flour, butter, egg yolks, and salt.
  3. Add yeast mixture and knead into smooth dough.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Roll dough out thin and cut into triangles.
  6. Place a spoon of plum jam on the wide end.
  7. Roll into crescent shapes.
  8. Place on baking tray and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes until lightly golden.
  9. Cool slightly and dust with powdered sugar.
