Homemade Dinner Rolls

To make these soft, Homemade Dinner Rolls, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons yeast
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/4 cup warm milk
  • 1/4 cup oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Activate the Yeast: In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5–10 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. Mix the Dough: Add the oil, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually stir in the flour until a soft dough forms.
  3. Knead: Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for 5–7 minutes until it is smooth and elastic.
  4. First Rise: Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free spot until doubled in size (usually about 1 hour).
  5. Shape: Punch the dough down to release air. Divide it into equal portions and roll them into smooth balls. Place the rolls in a greased baking pan, leaving a little space between them.
  6. Second Rise: Cover the pan and let the rolls rise again for about 30–45 minutes until puffy.
  7. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake the rolls for 15–20 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
  8. Finish: For a soft, buttery crust, brush the tops with melted butter immediately after removing them from the oven.
