Sugar-Free Condensed Milk
This recipe provides a thick, velvety texture that mimics traditional condensed milk using a heat-stable sweetener.
Ingredients
- 1 cup low-fat milk powder
- ½ cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
- Optional: 1/3 cup granulated sugar-free sweetener (such as Allulose or Erythritol)
Instructions
- Combine Base: In a high-speed blender or food processor, add the hot water and the butter. Pulse briefly until the butter is completely melted.
- Incorporate Powder: Add the milk powder and your choice of sugar-free sweetener to the liquid.
- Blend: Process on high for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is completely smooth and no grains remain.
- Thicken: The mixture will be thin while warm. Pour it into a glass jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. It will significantly thicken into a spreadable, pourable consistency as it chills.
- Store: Keep the condensed milk in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
